This original set of animal prints which started this suite of prints was originally created as a response to a group exhibition. I have continuously kept adding new works to the collection over the years. The images are mainly bold and graphic with a stylised contemporary aesthetic but maintain a very traditional quality in the way in which they are made.

This suite of wood block prints is made using traditional non-digital hand carving relief printing techniques. All wooden plates hand carved and hand printed using a printing press turned manually.

 

Inks are all hand-mixed and all embossing is also made by hand carving and printed as an additional layer on works with relief.

 

These are all a labour of love, made individually by hand from start to finish. Technique and printing process is very important in the final quality and finish of each piece.
